Another EOL? Yep, Windows Server 2012 R2

Windows Server 2012 (R2) reaches end of life in October.. Are you ready?

As of October 10, Microsoft will no longer provide support for Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2. While mainstream support for these versions ended in 2018, the company had continued to release updates over the past five years to help users transition to newer versions. However, beginning this year, all security updates and bug fixes for these versions will come to a stop.

To assist customers with the transition away from Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2, Microsoft is offering the option to migrate applications and databases to Azure Virtual Machines and receive free Extended Security Updates for an additional three years. For customers who prefer to keep their servers on-premises, Microsoft is also offering Azure Arc, which allows users to receive automated, scheduled Extended Security Update installations and access security and governance capabilities within Azure.

If you need a partner to help you manage the transition please reach out and we’ll schedule an intro call as soon as possible.
